Aragorn and Brego ~ a print of an oil on canvas painting commission.

This piece is inspired by Aragorn and Brego, from Lord Of The Rings, specifically The Two Towers, when Brego rescues Aragorn.

The story goes: Brego belonged to Theoden's son, and was unmanageable after he died, but Aragorn was able to connect with him, setting him free since "he's seen enough battle". But when Aragorn was thrown off the cliff, Brego found him, repaying the kindness shown to him earlier. It is implied that Arwen had a hand in telepathically showing the horse his location, but the bond between Brego and Aragorn was obvious.

Despite Brego not existing in the books, the friendship of Aragorn and Brego impacted viewers, and their bond transcended the film, with Viggo, the actor that played Aragorn, buying the horse who’s real name was Uraeus.
