Pastel Converse - Print

*This is a print of my original painting

Sofia Coppola’s 2006 film Marie Antoinette is now celebrating its 20th anniversary. A favourite film of mine since its release. I have up-cycled 3 paintings and prints inspired by the iconic ‘I Want Candy’ scene. 🍬

This print shows the iconic pastel converse that are hidden in the background of the scene. People speculate as to why Coppola did this. I personally think it was to show that even the Queen of France, was a young teenage girl, she was still human. The piece features a blue arrangement of flowers,

The piece features playing cards, confetti, the iconic converse trainers, a Manolo Blahnik shoe that were designed especially for the film, and dangling lace that I image one of the girls is inspecting for a dress. I hope you like the pieces! *Plays “I Want Candy” by Bow Wow Wow 🪭🍰🎲

Printed on enhanced matte art paper. It's heavyweight 200gsm fine art stock has a smooth, clean finish. The prints are made using Giclée printing – the gold standard used by museums and galleries worldwide. Pigment-based archival inks deliver smoother gradients, richer colour depth and long-lasting brilliance that won’t fade when displayed indoors.

Thank you for being here.🍬
